Jobs hope for JCB extension plans
Digger giant JCB has announced plans to create up to 75 new jobs as part of a 2.5m expansion at one of its Staffordshire factories.

The firm confirmed on Wednesday it has submitted a planning application to extend JCB Cab Systems in Rugeley, near Cannock, which has nearly 300 workers.

The site makes cabs for JCB machines. Work on a 30,000 sq ft extension could be finished by November.

A spokesman said the project will enable the company to continue to grow.

He said production at the factory had increased almost tenfold since the first cabs were produced there in 1999.

"Employment at the plant has also grown from 63 people in 1999 to nearly 300 today," he said.

"Expansion will enable us to continue to grow the business and increase the number of people we employ at the site."
