There has been a rise in the number of formal complaints against a hospital. The University Hospital of North Staffordshire in Stoke-on-Trent has seen complaints mostly over clinical treatment increase in the past year.
But the hospital says in total they have fallen from over 1,200 last year to 1,100 this time around. Last year more than half made were informal.
The hospital says it is responding to three quarters of formal accusations within 20 working days.
