Residents living close to the proposed M6 Toll road extension have held a public meeting to discuss the issue. People in Seabridge, near Newcastle-under-Lyme, say there will be a loss of land, pollution, extra noise and total disruption if the project goes ahead.
The new road would run from the end of the existing M6 Toll in Staffordshire up to the outskirts of Manchester.
About 100 residents attended Tuesday evening's meeting at Seabridge Community Centre.

Labour MP for Newcastle Paul Farrelly was also at the gathering.
He told BBC Midlands Today about another meeting he had recently with Transport Secretary Alistair Darling, where he asked for more information about what might happen in Staffordshire.
"What I really wanted to do was to get more detail of the proposals that are being put forward," Mr Farrelly said.
"Not only just the new option for an expressway but also more detail on the previous option which was widening by one lane on either side."
Many locals feel that the government's consultation paper has ignored the potential effects on their area.
The consultation period comes to an end in September.
