Two million square feet of the site will be developed

Advantage West Midlands says the plan for the Chatterley Valley, near Tunstall, will see 288 acres of brownfield land become a hi-tech business park with an urban forest.

Around two million square feet of the site will be cleared for development.

Land has also been designated for leisure use.

The redevelopment of Chatterley Valley will be one of the most important mixed use regeneration schemes to happen in Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle Marie Greer, Advantage West Midlands

This will include pubs, restaurants and a wetlands conservation and amenity area.

The project is a joint venture involving Advantage West Midlands and the North Staffordshire Regeneration Zone, Staffordshire County Council, Stoke-on-Trent City Council and Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council.

It will be submitted to the planning authorities at the beginning of May.

Part of the land is owned privately and Advantage West Midlands has been holding meetings with the landowners.

Ron Hilton, project champion for the North Staffordshire Regeneration Zone, said: "It should attract the best of hi-tech employers and bring a new era of economic prosperity to the region."
