Stoke-on-Trent's elected mayor Mike Wolfe says he is using new powers to crack down on young troublemakers. Groups of youths intimidating people can be told to move on under the new Anti-Social Behaviour Act.
Mr Wolfe says he will make good use of the powers and has already told police to target troublemakers in Meir Park and the Ruxley Road area of Bucknall.
He has asked for monthly reports on the situation in those parts and hopes for an improvement within three months.
Mr Wolfe says he has also asked youth workers to look into whether there is enough for young people to do in those areas.
