Companies hit by distraction gang
Thousands of pounds has been stolen from businesses across Staffordshire in a spate of distraction burglaries.

Over the last six months, three men have been targeting pubs, shops and off-licences in Burton, Uttoxeter, Stoke-on-Trent, Cannock and Lichfield.

Police say the group has distracted staff by claiming to have lost property, asking about stock or posing as workmen to gain entry.

The men are all described as white, 6ft with dark hair and Irish accents.

Pc Jane Jepson from Staffordshire Police said the gang was using a number of methods to take cash.

"We are asking traders to be vigilant and to keep cash in a secure room or safe.

"Any CCTV footage or vehicle details provided by traders could be of great assistance in helping us to identify these men."
