A 15-year-old boy was airlifted to Birmingham Children's Hospital |
Nine teenagers have been injured, one of them seriously, after the four-wheel drive vehicle they were in overturned in a Staffordshire field.
Three of the youngsters were in the front and six were in the back of the vehicle when the accident occurred in a ploughed field in Lower Drayton, near Penkridge, just before 1000 BST on Saturday.
One 15-year-old was trapped for 30 minutes and was taken to Birmingham Children's Hospital by air ambulance where he is being treated for multiple injuries.
The other eight, who are all aged between 14 and 15, were taken to hospital in Staffordshire with non-life threatening injuries.
Bob Lee from Staffordshire Ambulance service said: "It sounds like this started off as a fun morning for nine young people which then turned into a tragic situation."
