Gatwick passenger boom predicted | | There will be 20,000 more flights each year to and from Gatwick Airport by 2015, according to a new report. The interim master plan for the Sussex airport estimated 40m passengers would be using Gatwick by then, rising to 80m by 2030 if a second runway was built. The predictions come at a time when an Oxford University report claims Britain will not meet its climate change goals unless demand for air travel is curbed. Its authors said the UK was becoming "air dependent".
