Two Sussex hospitals have closed some of their wards after being affected by an outbreak of the winter vomiting bug. Four wards at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath, and another at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, have been affected.
They have been closed to new admissions as a precautionary measure in a bid to limit the spread of the Norovirus.
Symptoms include diarrhoea and vomiting and sufferers can be infectious for up to seven days.
A statement from the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust said anyone who felt unwell should consider whether they actually needed to go to either hospital for treatment.
"The best advice for those who display symptoms of the Norovirus is to stay at home and drink plenty of water," said director of nursing Alison Robertson.
