Bluebells bring out spring crowds
Bluebells at Wakefield Place
Native bluebells are at their best during spring
The last of two weekends showing off the spring displays of native bluebells is being held at Kew's country garden in West Sussex.

More than 10,000 people flocked to Wakehurst Place, near Ardingly, on the first one - two weeks ago - to see the nodding heads of the woodland flower.

"The gardens do look wonderful at the moment," said spokesman Trevor Butler.

Visitors are treated to guided walks and minibus tours to see the best views of the "Hyacinthoides non-scripta".

The tours are free for garden visitors and there is no need to book.

Mr Butler said: "With the acres of native bluebells in the woods, and other spring wild flowers across the meadows, this is one of the best times of the year to enjoy the 500-acre estate."
