Autistic boy inspires poetry book
Robin and John Knowles
Father and son Robin and John Knowles created the book together
A book on the quirky side of life with an autistic child has been published by a father and son from East Sussex.

Red Foot Duck and Other Stuff is a collection of drawings and poems by six-year-old Robin Knowles and his father John, from St Leonards.

"The book is a collaboration. They are Robin's drawings and I have taken them as inspiration for talking about autism," said poet Mr Knowles.

Some proceeds from the book will go to Robin's school, Torfield, in Hastings.

"The book is to do with autism in general and Robin's life in particular," said Mr Knowles, 42.

"It focuses on some of the oddball and quirky things that happen with autistic children."

The family finds that Robin's interest in drawing helps them all cope with his condition.

Robin was at first reluctant to allow them to be sold - he believed it was his until Mr Knowles explained there would be more than one copy.
