Events are taking place to mark National Anti-Bullying Week
A new strategy aimed at tackling bullying in schools across the South East is being hammered out at a conference being held in Brighton.

Representatives from the Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA) and local education authorities will be at the Sussex University Conference Centre on Monday.

The event has been organised by the ABA to mark the beginning of the first National Anti-Bullying Week.

An anti-bullying poster campaign is also running across the city.

Fergus Crow, co-ordinator of the city council's Anti-Bullying Project, and regional co-ordinator for the ABA, said the campaign was a "great chance to push the issue of bullying right to the top of the agenda".

"This is about creating secure environments where all children and young people feel safe to develop, grow, learn and play," he said.

Schools across East Sussex will be marking National Anti-Bullying Week with a series of events.

They include workshops on developing and maintaining positive relationships, and films on anti-bullying.
