Damage to the cafe is due to be cleared up by next week |
Bike riders and skateboarders are making life a misery for a cafe owner in East Sussex. Graham Smith runs the Colonnade Cafe on the promenade in Bexhill.
But his business is being plagued by youths on skateboards and bikes who use the area to do stunts nearly every night.
He said he can spend up to an hour every day clearing up after skaters and riders who have been destroying paving stones and kerbs.
Part of the cafe has had to be closed off because of the damage.
Mr Smith said: "Damage is caused basically by bikers using the grinders on their bikes to grind the edges down then they bring their bikes up and smash down on the edging stones.
"It is a very serious problem."
The police have suggested fencing off the cafe to deter bikers and skaters.
Businesses in the area are hoping for a meeting soon to discuss the matter.
The damage caused at the cafe is due to be cleared up by next week.
