Mother charged after baby killing

A 19-year-old mother is due in court charged in connection with the death of her baby son in South Yorkshire.

Police said three-month-old Alfie Goddard died at Sheffield Children's Hospital in May after being injured.

Lindsay Harris, of Locksley Avenue, Conisborough, will appear at Sheffield Crown Court charged with child neglect and perverting the course of justice.

Alfie's father Craig Goddard, 24, of Marton Road, is already remanded in custody charged with murder.

A post-mortem examination revealed Alfie died as a result of a head injury.
