Bogus Pc robs pensioner in house
A pensioner has been attacked and robbed by a man pretending to be a police officer in Sheffield.

The 81-year-old man woke to find an intruder in his home in Mason Lathe Road, Shiregreen, in the early hours of Saturday, police have revealed.

When the man asked the robber what he was doing he replied that he was a police officer investigating a break-in.

The offender then pushed the man to the floor and stole a large amount of cash.

Sharp features

Pc John Wade of South Yorkshire Police said: "This was a callous crime carried out by an uncaring person.

"If anyone has information or if this jogs the mind of anyone who suspects someone of being involved they need to get in touch."

The suspect is described as white, 5ft 6in, aged 20 to 30 with a thin face and sharp features.

He also spoke with a local accent.
