Home delivery for bathroom baby
A mother who gave birth in her bathroom unaware that she was 32 weeks pregnant has thanked the paramedics who saved her newborn son's life.

Kerry Foster, 23, from Doncaster, called for an ambulance when she began to have severe stomach pains in May.

Paramedics Tom Kelly and Carolanne McKew arrived to find baby Jack Shaw had been born, but was not breathing.

Mr Kelly resuscitated him en route to the hospital and often checked up on his progress in the neo-natal unit.

Happy and proud

Jack, who was only 2lb 8oz when he was born, was kept in the Doncaster Royal Infirmary for 6 weeks before being allowed home to Ms Foster and her partner John Shaw.

In a letter, Ms Foster told Mr Kelly and trainee Ms McKew that she was eternally grateful for everything they had done.

"Not only did you save my son's life, you have also made me one of the happiest and proudest women ever to live," she wrote.

"You will always have a special place in the bottom of my heart and I thank you from the very bottom of my heart."
