Tickets remain for Elton's return
Sir Elton John
Sheffield is a prelude to Las Vegas for Sir Elton
Arena bosses staging Sir Elton John's first concert in South Yorkshire for two years are confident of a sell-out, despite tickets still being available.

The star is appearing in Sheffield on Thursday, exactly two years to the day since his last appearance there.

Sir Elton opened a short UK tour in Newcastle on Tuesday and will play in Nottingham and Glasgow before four London concerts next week.

A Hallam Arena spokeswoman said they were sure all the seats would sell.

Heading for Las Vegas

The tour sees Sir Elton's last performances in the UK before May next year.

In January, he has one date in Paris before making more than 20 appearances in Las Vegas between February and April.

The UK performances are being used to promote the star's latest album Peach Tree Road.

The Arena spokeswoman said that while most of the 11,000 tickets for Thursday's show had already been sold, they were confident that even those seats with restricted views would be taken.
