A special machine is being used to remove graffiti |
Graffiti artists in Rawmarsh, South Yorkshire are being encouraged to keep their artwork to designated sites. Youngsters aged from 11 to 17 are being offered places at a special five-day workshop that starts on Monday.
The Project External Gallery is being staged to encourage local graffiti artists to work on a series of murals on agreed sites.
Two graffiti artists from Sheffield will lead the workshops as well as the production of the finished designs.

By signing up to the scheme, the youngsters will agree not to paint illegally. The murals will be produced later in the year in the Bameld Road area of Rawmarsh.
The project is taking place at the same time as a graffiti removal machine is being used by Rotherham Council's neighbourhood warden scheme to clean up buildings in Rawmarsh.
John Parks from the scheme said: "The workshop will allow local graffiti artists the opportunity to come up with ideas and designs that will be transferred onto a public area.
