Police investigating the death of a man in a drive-by shooting in Sheffield have made more arrests.

Three men, who are all in their early 20s, were detained in Nottinghamshire.

Gerald Smith, 42, was leaving the Afro-Caribbean Club on Spital Hill when he was attacked on 18 December.

Shots were fired from a car travelling in the direction of Burngreave Road.

The car then sped off towards the Wicker area of the city.

Mr Smith, who was born in Jamaica, was taken to the Northern General Hospital where he died.

On Wednesday, two men and a woman were arrested in Nottinghamshire in connection with the same crime.

They are still being questioned.
