McCartney keeps concert pledge
Sir Paul McCartney
The former Beatle cancelled after losing his voice last month
Pop legend Sir Paul McCartney will return to a stage in Sheffield a month after cancelling his last concert in the city.

Thousands of fans were left disappointed when the former Beatle postponed a performance on 6 April after he lost his voice.

Sir Paul held up a hand-written sign to apologise to fans at the time.

But the veteran rocker promised he would be back and will fulfil his pledge at the Sheffield arena on Thursday night.

The show will be the second time he has performed in the city as part of his first UK tour in 10 years which also included an historic performance in Moscow's Red Square at the weekend.

And Sir Paul, 60, is expected to be in good voice after it was announced that he and his wife Heather Mills are expecting their first child later in the year.
