Ramblers say crossing is 'dangerous'
South Yorkshire has been named as having one of the most dangerous road crossings in the country.

According to the Ramblers Association, the pedestrian crossing on the Sheffield Parkway between the Handsworth and Catcliffe junctions is one of the 10 worst in the country.

The list of dangerous crossings has been compiled by members of the Ramblers Association from their personal experiences.

Local members feel the crossing puts the lives of walkers and cyclists at risk.

They are now holding talks with Rotherham Council about replacing the crossing with a bridge at an estimated cost of 250,000.
