Up to 60 jobs may go from a Somerset distribution centre after the company announced it was consolidating its operations in Birmingham. A 30-day consultation process has begun with employees at Primaflow in Wellington which supplies the plumbing, heating and construction trades. A spokesman for the company said it was proposing to reduce the role of the Wellington site. He said the aim of the migration was to help the business remain competitive. "The company faces an ever-increasing challenge to remain competitive and migrating to a single national distribution site will significantly improve this situation," said the company spokesman. "Until this consultation period is complete it is not possible for us to determine with any certainty the full implications of our proposal."
