Sat-navs are increasing in popularity and use |
A Somerset village wants to cut the number of lorries coming through its streets being guided by sat-nav. Parish councillors in Wedmore claim satellite navigation systems have led to a rise in HGVS using the village.
Parish Councillor Malcolm Johnson said he would like to see more information on local road peculiarities added to sat-nav systems.
"At least they could give more advisory information to motorists to avoid the village," he said.
He added: "One good thing, it's not on the primary and secondary freight routes, so the heavy haulage industry is aware."
