Lessons taught on walk to school
Pupils from an infant school in Congresbury will learn about the environment as they walk to school.

Accompanied by their parents, pupils from the Glebe Infants School will walk from the village cross along safe routes to school.

As they walk alongside St Andrew's Church they will be quizzed about road safety and the environment.

The Glebe has achieved Green Flag status within the national eco-schools accreditation scheme.

Secure route

The pupil committee has organised prizes for the quiz to encourage a large number of youngsters to take part in the event.

Head teacher Sally Bingham said: "We want to encourage more of our children to walk to school and this event will help this and the children will also benefit from the exercise and fresh air."

High visibility jackets have been provided for youngsters and supervisors.

The walking route along St Paul's Causeway through the churchyard is already a well-used and familiar access route to school.
