Surveys' support for rugby ground
Simulation of proposed development
Bath Sport want a new stadium to be built to replace the current one
Two public opinion surveys show huge support to retain rugby at Bath's city centre Recreation Ground.

The independent surveys, signed by more than 3,500 people, will be discussed at a meeting of the trustees next Friday.

The club needs to expand its capacity to meet the demands of the rugby union game's authorities.

The three options being consulted are for the stadium to be rebuilt along the north parade, develop it where it is or to return the site to a green space.

A survey carried out by Bath Rugby found 22,000 supporters agreed with their plan of redeveloping the stadium in its current location.

Bath Sport, an independent association, want to build a new stadium which would mean knocking down the nearby leisure centre while Friends of Bath Recreation Ground are against the proposals and would like to see the site returned to an open space.
