Everyone wanting a ticket this year has to register their details
People who have registered for the Glastonbury Festival in June will now be able to buy up to four adult tickets in a single transaction.

Michael Eavis said he was "delighted" at the positive response to the ticket registration process designed to beat tickets being sold on for a profit.

"We can only applaud fans for helping us with this initiative designed to beat the ticket touts," he said.

It is also hoped the move will cut the number of cars at the event.

'Passport photo'

"We can only applaud Glastonbury fans everywhere for helping us launch this very necessary registration initiative," Mr Eavis added.

"Our stated aim has always been to combat the ticket touting and to make the ticket buying system as fair as possible," he said

This year everyone who wants to buy a ticket has to pre-register their details during February and provide a passport photograph.

In return, they get a unique code, which must be quoted to buy a 150 ticket when they go on sale on 1 April

The glastonburyregistration.com registration website will be open until 28 February. Forms can also be collected from Millets camping shops.

Organisers have emphasised that registration does not guarantee a ticket.
