Car barriers to beat boy racers
A car park dubbed a "race track for boy racers" is to have barriers installed to reduce anti-social behaviour.

Residents near the Locking Road site at Weston-super-Mare have said drivers using the car park as a meeting place at night make their lives a misery.

Now new pay-on-entry barriers which activate after 1900 GMT will be fitted to stop the noise nuisance.

Insp Patrick McGowan of Avon and Somerset Police said: "This is great news for the local community."

He added: "There have been a number of anti-social incidents in the car park and this will go a long way to improving the local environment for all."

Councillor John Crockford-Hawley said: "These improvements will benefit long-suffering local residents and businesses, who for too long have endured night time anti-social behaviour."
