Fab pix go under hammer
The Beatles
The pictures were taken in Somerset in 1963
Rare photographs of the Beatles, captured on the beach at Weston-super-Mare, are to be auctioned.

The black and white pictures, taken in 1963 when the group was on tour in Somerset, show them in playful mood and wearing Edwardian costumes.

The pictures are to be auctioned in London on 20 November.

The Beatles made three visits to the West Country in 1963 with concerts in Taunton in February and September and Bath in June.

The pictures to be auctioned were taken by showbiz photographer Dezo Hoffman, who also appears in one snap.

A spokesman for Cooper Owen, the auctioneers, said the images were a piece of musical history.

Also for sale will be George Harrison's Fender Stratocaster guitar which is expected to reach 25,000 and a corduroy jacket formerly belonging to John Lennon.
