Rail passengers face disruption on Sunday because a number of drivers working for East Midlands Trains will not turn up for work. The company said the drivers' action related to one of their colleagues being sacked for what it described as a serious breach of safety regulations. A replacement bus service will run between Matlock and Derby, and also Nottingham and Lincoln. But services to St Pancras and between Derby and Crewe will operate as normal. East Midlands Trains said most of the drivers involved in the protest were based in Nottingham. The company's managing director Tim Shoveller said: "We are very disappointed and surprised at the actions of this group of staff, resulting in us being unable to deliver a full timetable for passengers this Sunday. "We are working very hard to try to deliver the best possible service for our passengers under difficult circumstances."
