Anti-litter campaigners are offering cigarette end holders on the eve of England's ban on smoking in enclosed public spaces.

Keep Britain Tidy is spearheading the campaign to keep down smokers' waste.

There are fears the launch of the smoking ban on 1 July will lead to an increase in litter when smokers are forced outside pubs and offices.

A total of 7,000 free "Stubbi" packs, which include cigarette pouches, are being handed out across Nottingham.

Keep Britain Tidy is distributing 250,000 of the cigarette pouches across the UK with the Nottingham Partnership Council in charge of handing out the city's 7,000 Stubbis.

The charity said research shows cigarette-related rubbish was the biggest source of litter in the country.
