Man dies while trying to escape
A man has died in a fall as he fled from police in Nottinghamshire.

Officers were called to Young Crescent in Sutton-in-Ashfield in the early hours of Saturday.

The man climbed a fence to get away but fell on the other side suffering head injuries. Paramedics and police were unable to resuscitate him.

The man was later named as 38-year-old Russell Revill from Sutton in Ashfield. Nottinghamshire Police will carry out its own investigation.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission said they were satisfied the force was not at fault.

A post-mortem examination confirmed he died from head injuries.
