Police said the raid was the largest in the city for three years
Twenty-seven suspected drug dealers have been arrested in a 10-day police crackdown in Nottingham.

Operation Glacier aimed to stop people selling heroin and crack on the streets of inner-city Nottingham.

Supt Dave Walker, of Nottinghamshire Police, said the drugs bust was the largest in the city for three years.

Most of the raids took place in the Radford and St Ann's neighbourhoods and 16 suspects have already appeared in court accused of dealing class A drugs.

Supt Walker said: "The Proceeds of Crime Act lets us take the trappings of wealth - so if people who have no obvious source of income have plasma screens and high powered motor vehicles - there is a process in the courts to get that from them."

Police are encouraging people to contact a confidential hotline to report drug dealers as part of an on-going campaign called Rat on a Rat.

Samurai swords, dozens of phones and thousands of pounds in cash were seized in the Operation Glacier campaign.
