Smoking banned in city hospital
Stubbed out cigarette
The ban covers all buildings at the hospital site
A second major hospital in Nottingham has introduced a non-smoking policy.

The complete ban on smoking inside the Nottingham City Hospital follows a similar move at the Queen's Medical Centre in January.

The NHS is aiming to have a smoke-free environment at all its hospitals nationwide by the end of the year.

The ban will be strictly enforced and is "designed to protect and improve the health of both smokers and non-smokers," the trust said.

Hospital spokeswoman Karen Fisher said: "We expect our staff to implement this policy as they would any other policy across the trust.

"This is the start of a long process and we are working with staff to ensure they do challenge people who smoke on site."
