Warning given over alcohol sales
Police and trading standards officers in south Nottinghamshire are set to send youngsters into off licences to crackdown on under-age sales.

The test purchases are being launched after police raised concerns at a recent rise in anti-social behaviour among young teenagers.

Officers visited secondary schools in the area prior to the school holidays to warn pupils about their behaviour.

High-visibility police patrols will also take place in problem areas.

Ch Insp Andy Burton said: "We are working with trading standards to identify premises for test purchase operations and any premises found to be in breach of licensing laws will have action taken against them.

"High-visibility patrols will take place and officers will speak to any juveniles illegally possessing alcohol and any dispose of any alcohol recovered.

"Contact will be made with the parents and a letter will be sent to the relevant school notifying them to the incident."
