Drugs den factory to be secured
Police in Nottinghamshire have issued a closure order on a former factory in the town which was being used as a drugs den.

The Sara Lee unit on Browne Street Sutton in Ashfield has been unoccupied for around a year.

When police visited the site they found people sleeping rough alongside hypodermic needles and other devices used for taking drugs.

The site will be boarded up and secured for at least the next three months.

In a bid to get in, addicts smashed windows and doors, turning the building into both an eyesore and a danger, police said.

Last month a public meeting was held to discuss how to solve the problem and it was decided a closure order should be issued.
