The teenagers interviewed local people about gun crime |
Young people from part of Nottingham are launching their own radio programme about gun crime. The teenagers from St Ann's and the Meadows areas of the city have been interviewing local people about their experiences of gun crime.
They will also be putting forward their own ideas for tackling the problem.
The results of their research will be broadcast on the internet radio station XtremeFM based at the city's Arts Theatre in Hockley.
Meadows youth leader Terrence Green said: "The young people are aware of gun crime, there's no denying that, but I think what's important to realise is that they're intelligent and they're well aware of what it really means.
"They understand it's not a cartoon situation - they realise there's people's lives involved and it can change things."
