Paperwork warning for landlords
Landlords in Nottingham are being urged to hand in their liquor licence applications by the beginning of August or face possible closure.

New laws mean all premises need to convert to a new type of licensing.

Nottingham City Council has said it is still waiting for most applications to be returned.

All pubs, clubs, private clubs, restaurants, off-licences and late- night takeaways need to apply by 6 August under 2003 legislation.

Solicitor Tony Wilkinson said: "We've noticed a lot of licensees don't seem to understand that the onus is on them to make these applications for the new premises and personal licences.

"My advice is that they can make these applications themselves but the applications for the new premises licences are proving quite complicated."
