Bogus officer targets the elderly
Police are warning elderly householders in Notts to be wary of a bogus policeman using false identification.

It follows four incidents where money was stolen from homes in Carrington, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Radcliffe-on-Trent and Nottingham Road in Mansfield.

The man pretended he was inquiring about a crime before distracting his victims and stealing money on Tuesday.

People are advised to check with Notts Police if an officer is an official member of staff.

In one case the bogus policeman even snatched money from the hand of one of his victims.

It follows reports of six similar offences in northern Derbyshire on Monday.
