A number of supermarkets in Nottingham have been praised by police for helping to stop under age drinking. A month ago, 10 out of 16 supermarkets sold alcohol to teenagers who were in an operation supervised by undercover police and trading standards officers.
In a similar operation last weekend, the same 10 supermarkets were re-visited three times.
Of the 30 attempted purchases, only one succeeded. Officers said they were very pleased with the results.
The operation was part of a drive to tackle alcohol-related violence and anti-social behaviour in the run up to Christmas.
