Parking charges are set to be introduced for the first time in an area of Nottinghamshire. Rushcliffe Borough Council is proposing to introduce pay and display parking at several car parks in the district.
It said it wanted to set up charges following complaints from residents, traders and parish councils on a number of issues.
The council said many shoppers were unable to find spaces as cars often occupied bays all day.
It has launched a public consultation programme on the proposals.
