Protest about third incinerator
Environmentalists fighting plans to expand a Nottingham incinerator took to the streets as part of their campaign.

A protest was held outside the Council House in the Old Market Square on Saturday about the Eastcroft site.

The Waste Recycling Group wants to build a third incinerator at the plant, off London Road, to burn an extra 100,000 tonnes of rubbish a year.

Jon Beresford from Nottingham Against Incineration and Landfill (NAIL) said there were concerns about pollution.

He said: "It is extremely important that people make their views known because we need to send a clear message to people we elect that we do not want yet another incinerator polluting our atmosphere."

Protesters also handed out flyers and collected signatures for their petition against the plans for the site near to Trent Bridge.
