Police identify dead teenager
Katie Baxter
Police are treating Katie Baxter's death as suspicious
A teenager found dead in a disused warehouse on Friday afternoon was a missing homeless person, police said.

The body of 18-year-old Katie Baxter was found on Great North Close close to a railway line in Nottingham.

A post-mortem examination was carried out on Saturday and police are treating her death as suspicious.

Police said the Nottingham Panthers ice hockey fan had not been seen since she left her sister's home in West Bridgford on 29 December.

Officers are at the scene where the body was found to gather further evidence.

Detective Inspector Adrian Morgan said: "We know that (Katie) was associated with the homeless community within Nottingham.

"The scene where her body was found is often frequented by the homeless community and people sleeping rough in that area.

"We need to speak to these people as they may have some information vital to the enquiry.

"We also want to hear from anyone who may have seen Katie over the last couple of months, or who knew who she was with or where she has been."
