Scheme to help addicts' families
A pilot scheme to help family members of people with drink or drug problems is being launched.

The scheme is being run by support group Hetty's in the Mansfield and Ashfield areas and could be extended if it proves a success.

It is being funded with a 5,000 grant from Nottinghamshire County Council.

Councillor Joyce Bosnjak said: "The plight of family members who live with people who are addicted to drugs or alcohol is too often ignored."

Nina Dauban, from Hetty's, said: "We know that if a family member improves their confidence and self esteem they are better able to support the drug or alcohol user."
