Town to name and shames its yobs
police patrol
Everyone will know who the troublemakers are in Mansfield
Drunken troublemakers in a Nottinghamshire town are to be banned from every club and pub in the area.

It is the latest measure introduced by police in Mansfield to crack down on public disorder.

Yobs will be named and shamed as part of plans to reduce town centre crime by 25% within three years.

Insp Sean Ostle said: "We will publish names and addresses in the local newspaper so everyone knows who is committing these violent offences."

He said photographs would also be sent to pubs and clubs so staff could recognise people who have been banned.

Mansfield was named this week as the sixth worst place to live in the UK in a ranking of crime, education, employment, environment and lifestyle.

In the table, produced for Channel 4, Nottingham fared even worse coming second on the list.
