A mother who believes her daughter's epilepsy is linked to the MMR jab says she is devastated a 10-year legal battle is being dropped. Maria Gibson from Mansfield was part of a claim involving hundreds of families, after her daughter Victoria became ill.
Campaigners are upset after being advised not to pursue the matter, just weeks before a court case.
The Department of Health has repeated that the jab is the best way to protect against Measles, Mumps and Rubella.

Victoria, who is 12, became ill shortly after receiving the vaccine 11 years ago.
She is shortly due to undergo her third operation in six months.
The group was recently refused legal aid to fund the legal action against four manufacturers of the vaccine.
Mrs Gibson said: "I feel like I'm letting my daughter down, because I can't afford to pursue it.
"It's horrible, after we've fought for 10 years. All we want is acceptance of Victoria's illness."
Her solicitors have advised the family not to carry on with legal proceedings which could end up costing thousands of pounds.
They stated: " The overall balance of the current scientific evidence indicates that the MMR vaccination is safe and it would be very difficult to find a link between the vaccination and Victoria's epilepsy."
There has been no comment from the solicitors acting for the manufacturers.
