Plans to expand secure hospital
Rampton Hospital
The high security hospital has about 450 patients.
Plans have been unveiled for a number of specially-built secure units for women patients at Rampton Hospital.

The high-security hospital, on the border of Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire, has about 450 patients, including 60 women.

Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust has applied to Bassetlaw District Council for permission for four new women's units on the hospital grounds.

One is a 14-bed unit with clinical suites for admission and assessment.

Three other units will have 12 beds each for patients with personality disorders, mental illness and behavioural needs.

An existing building would also be altered to provide day facilities, including therapy, education, sport and leisure.
