A new timetable for trains between Nottingham and London comes into force on Saturday. The change comes after Midland Mainline scaled down its service last year.
With major engineering works on the West Coast mainline, Midland Mainline was asked to provide extra services between London and Manchester.
That meant rolling stock was taken away from Nottingham, but from Monday there will be two direct trains every hour to the capital.
In addition to the 32 weekday services from Nottingham, an hourly direct service from Beeston to London will also resume.
Passengers are being warned there may be further alterations for services going into St Pancras Station with major works still taking place on the Channel Tunnel Rail Link.
