Support group forced to shut down
A Nottinghamshire group which helps families whose babies have died is to close due to a lack of volunteers.

The Mansfield-based Shattered Dreams organisation has offered support to hundreds of people since it opened.

Set up more than eight years ago, the group also offered aid to women having difficult pregnancies and helped set up a special hospital unit.

Maria Gibson, a co-ordinator with the group, said she was "devastated" by the closure.

She said: "I think we all, as volunteers, have put a lot of time, effort and passion into keeping the group going.

"We have supported families not just through their loss but also through subsequent pregnancies.

"One of the biggest bonuses is seeing them have other children."
