Two arrested after abuse claim
Kingsthorpe View Care Centre
The care home has about 50 residents
Two care workers have been arrested after an allegation of abuse at a care home in Nottingham.

Nottinghamshire Police said the two people have been released on bail while the investigation continues.

The privately run home, located in St Anns and owned by Highfield Care Homes, specialises in looking after elderly people with dementia.

The company says it has sacked two workers and suspended another one after its own investigation.

Unannounced inspection

The home is part of a chain and has 50 residents under its care.

Police said they are also examining allegations of misappropriation of money belonging to residents.

Nottingham Social Services said in a statement that it has started a review of all residents living at the home in conjunction with the home and other agencies.

It added that it has stopped sending elderly people to the home.

Andrew Lowe, assistant director of social services, said: "Concerns about the standard of care at the privately-run home were raised during an unannounced inspection by the National Care Standards Agency."
