Police to focus on pubs
The streets of Arnold are to be walked by high visibility police patrols over the Christmas season.

Working with pub landlords, officers hope to prevent alcohol induced violence in the town.

'Operation Sold' will involve officers visiting pubs in the Arnold area to enforce licensing laws.

They will be looking out for underage drinkers, disorderly behaviour, drug offences and any possession of offensive weapons.

Nottinghamshire Police hope to build on the Arnold pubwatch scheme and mobile CCTV camera system.

A radio link is already in place between pubs and police to ensure a quick response to any late night problems.

The new initiative, which begins on Saturday, has been welcomed by Arnold Town Manager and pub landlords in the area.
